SAI SUKTHI - ACHARYA VANI

FILL  MY SPIRITUAL TREASURES.

                           SRI SAI BABA.

BABA IS  SAYING “ JUST THE WAY WE GATHER MONEY, WE  SHOULD FILL THE SPIRITUAL TREASURES WITH  LOT MORE FONDNESS . IT SHOULD BE EMPTY FIRST BEFORE FILLING!  THAT MEANS, ILL-FEELINGS LIKE AFFECTION,   HATRED, JEALOUSY SHOULD REMOVED CONTINUOUSLY  (EMPTYING), SO THAT THERE WILL BE CONTINUOUS  EXPERIENCE OF SADGURU’S MIRACLES ,TEACHINGS AND GURU’S LOVE FOR HIS DISCIPLES. THEN HEARTS WILL BE FILLED WITH HIS GRACE.

BHAGAVAN SRI BHARADWAJA MAHARAJ’S UGADI MESSAGE.

“UGADI” festival reminds us first about the ugadi pachhadi (pickle), which is a mixture of sweet sour, bitter, spicy, acrid, salty tastes.
There are lots of benefits in its ingredients from medical science point of view. The key principle in the origin of this medicinal process is that whatever is cultivated in a place, during a particular season has major contribution to our good health. That means an understanding that there is close association between trees, animals and all the seasons in a country. Just like the trees blossom and bear fruit according to the seasons, in a similar way Rishis said that God will incarnate in a suitable form for every YUGAM. As a matter of fact, this is the same understanding involved in the way we celebrate our festivals.
In addition to this, in UGADI Pachhadi -- the sweet is for happiness in life, bitter for sorrow, and other tastes like sour, they all are symbols for various emotions. The ugadi pachhadi with all these 6 tastes is Healthy. In the same way, accepting all the experiences in life with better understanding is Faith in GOD - the ultimate medicine. Unless we have this understanding, our faith in Baba will not become unwavering. Let us see what is meaning of proper understanding (awagaahana).
God has created this entire creation in such a way that it is suitable for all the living beings! The creation of the body, food, water, air, the affection to save the race, is equally given to all the living beings. The living beings because of immense desire, commit lot of sins, and accumulate bad Karma. The livings beings should learn not to do so, that is the Ultimate goal of this Creation.
If we think carefully, the appropriate thing would be our gratitude, obedience, and love towards the God for providing us everything .These are called Dharma and Devotion. However, we forget all the benefits derived; we ignore even when we are cautioned by Mahatmas and commit more sins. We hope not to face the consequences for our mistakes. Just like, expecting the cure of illness while eating the diet not prescribed. We perform puja when everything is fulfilled. If one wish is not fulfilled, then we forget all the benefits we had so far and accuse him. In spite of doing all these things, we still expect him to answer our prayers. We wail continuously, if our child does the same thing to us. That means we don’t even treat Him equal to us.
If we realize the marvellous creation of the God, then we will have only gratitude, and affection towards HIM. We will not bother whether our desires are fulfilled or not. The gratitude and obedience more towards our selfishness, egoism, bickering and quarrels is due to lack of such understanding.
Obedience with gratitude towards God is the implementation of Dharama. This will give the self-control and knowledge and ultimately it results in Patience and Faith. UGADI festival is nothing but cultivating these good habits. In this New Year MAY SRI SAI BLESS US WITH THIS TYPE OF UGADI PACHHADI .WISH ALL SAI DEVOTEES A HAPPY NEW YEAR.

WHO IS OUR MASTER?

Our revered Master says that devout reading of Sri Sai Baba’s life will bestow the grace of Lord Dattatreya on society. The great saints from all over the world would come on their own accord to bless us and this is the only means to rejuvenate our society. The above said words of the Master are absolutely true. His life stands testimony to it.
While Master was at Vidyanagar, the saint of Golagamudi-Avadhuta Venkaih Swamy, and when at Ongole, the saint of kurnool-Avadhuta Sri Rami Reddy Tata, a recluse woman saint of kanykumari-Avadhuta Mayi Amma - all came on their own accord without any special invitation extended by Master.  Master often said that Sri Sai’s grace would surely be with us if we perform parayana, mediation, and service to Sai regularly in full faith. “If you stand by truth I shall always be beside you and ever protect you, there is no scope for worry once you hand over the reins to the Sadguru, Sit Quiet. I shall do all that is essential for you” said Sri Sai. All these when done regularly with faith and patience, Lord Datta would himself in the form of various great saints would come on their own and bless us. This was firmly believed and put into practice by Pujya Sri Master. The visit of various saints to Masterji’s house is ample evidence to it and through him we all had the good fortune of being blessed by these Great Saints.
Likewise, Sri Masterji acquired burning ember as a mark of blessing from the sacred Dhuni at Shirdi which was lit by Sri Sai Himself. Sri Master asked none but only Sri Sai for it. In a similar fashion, a miraculous incident was witnessed two days before Masterji left his earthly body. For the first time in history, Lord Dattatreya’s fourth incarnation Sri Akkalkot Swami’s “holy padukas” -sandals (worn by Swami himself during his life time) entered Andhra Pradesh without any effort from Pujya Acharyaji.
The day was 10th April 1989.Masterji was getting the manuscript of Sri Sai Leelamrutham’s 7th edition ready for print. Around 1.30 pm, Cholappa’s (an intimate devotee who served Sri Swamy Samarth of Akkalkot while in his physical form) great grandson stepped into Master’s house with the holy padukas of Sri Swami. The holy padukas are approximately 130 years old. Padukas are given utmost significance in Datta tradition. It symbolizes the spiritual path tread by all the Great Saints.
While explaining the significance of the Datta Padukas,Sri Masterji  once said, “The padukas which always rests on the ground represents that Lord Datta is ever  available on this Earth in all yugas (epochs). The Guru (Master) and Trimurtis (trinity)  are the form of Para Brahma-The Brahman and that Brahman’s feet in the Bhooloka (Earth) as told by Vedas (Holy Scriptures). It also says that this entire universe with all its elements constitute the feet of God only. “All that you see constitutes me” The entire universe is within me” said Sri Sai .Swami Samarth of Akkalkot said “ I am the whole universe ‘Origin -the Origin of Origins -Datta Nagar” That is to say these holy padukas are equivalent to his physical presence. It can be inferred that Sri Akkalkot Swami himself in the form of holy padukas came over to Ongole to personally bless our Master. On reading Sri Akkalkot Swami’s life one can get to know that Sri Swami’s whenever bestowed his special blessings on his devotees, gifted them his holy padukas. This can be seen all through the Datta tradition.
Sri Narasimha Saraswathi Swami (the second incarnation of Lord Dattatreya) performed penance for 12 long years at the holy confluence of Pancha Ganga (five rivers). While leaving for Gangapur, pointing to the padukas there to a devotee by name Bhatt, Sri Swami said, “Though I appear to be physically away from here, in reality, shall always remain here in the form of these padukas”. While leaving for Srisailam, for his final departure, Sri Swami left his padukas at Gangapur and reiterated the same to his devotees there. He himself after a long time reappeared at Akkalkot as Sri Swami Samarth. That is why Sri Swamy of Akkalkot said that “I have come from Srisailam, and my name is Narasimhabhan”. This Swami and Sri Sai gave ample experiences to their respective devotees that they are no different from each other. Lord Sri Dattatreya simultaneously incarnated in these two forms is a novel thing in the very history itself. Hence in the form of padukas ,Lord Dattatreya himself , i.e. Sri Narasimha Saraswathi  i.e. Sri Sai personally came over to Ongole that day.Pujya Sri Master in his  course of talk said , “To those who have taken refuge at these holy padukas ,their world full of misery would get transformed into a joyous one.”
In our lives and in the history of our state of Andhra Pradesh, our Master who is the principle person behind such a significant and unmemorable event appears as a personification of perfection to some, while to others, he appears to be full of faults. Of course, this is the way of the world. To the question as to what Sri Sai found in him, the arrival of Sri Akkalkot Swami’s padukas is the answer. In this civilized society, people with etiquettes can decide for themselves as to what our Master is and reform accordingly and those who lack this none can save them!!!
On October 13th, 1982, at Rajahmundry, Sri Masterji for the first time blessed me with His darshan owing to the merits of my previous births. I was drawn towards Him at the very first darshan and an intense feeling developed in me to constantly stay in His company. After a few days, leaving everything I went to stay with him .I had the good fortune of being intimate with him and got the opportunity of serving him. It would be more apt to say that I too became an instrument in the Sai Dharma Prachara Yagana(propagation of the  Sri Sai Philosophy) carried on by Pujya Sri Master rather than to say that I served him. Not only that with my limited knowledge I critically analyzed him from different angles. I also had the rare opportunity of questioning him and my queries were answered by Sri Master wherever needed.
“It is my firm belief that today’s society bitten by the serpent called Kaliyuga has been rendered life less and spiritually dead. To spiritually rejuvenate such society, the Lord of Yoga-Sri Dattatreya himself has descended on to this earth in the form of Pujya Sri Acharya Ekkirala Bharadwaja”
As if to prove this, after Mahasamadhi of Sri Master, on 30th 1989 (the birthday of Sri Master) Chi. Vedavathi, beloved daughter of Sri Masterji had a divine dream which is as follows:
In the early hours of 30th October, Sri Master as usual got up from his sleep and was sitting on his cot. He asked Chi.Vedavathi to get some coffee and Master drank it. She found that there were many cottages around. It appeared like a hermitage. The cottages and the surroundings were decorated with rangolis.
Various flower plants were spread out all through the hermitage. A cow and a calf were seen at every cottage. Stags, deers, and tigers were found to be moving about harmoniously. Chi .Vedavathi felt that the hermitage belonged to the Saptharshis (Seven Great Sages). In the meantime, sages like Vasistha were making preparations for the holy bath of Sri Master. They made him sit on a silver stool. Even Vedavathi participated with the sages like Valmiki in giving holy bath to the Master. After the bath’s Master was dressed in silk dress and seated on a throne. Pujya Sri Masterji was shining with divine radiance. The Maharshis worshipped Masterji in 16 ways (Shodasopachara puja). At the end of the puja, the sages bowed to his Holy feet and Sri Masterji blessed them all. And then a spiritual discussion ensued between Sri Masterji and the sages in Sanskrit. Chi.Vedavathi was looking around the hermitage. She saw the children of the sages like Arundhathi etc.; they all were looking beautiful and bright. Then Vedamma was saying to herself, “this place and the people over here seem to possess some divine charm. The place appears to be quite peaceful and can I at any time live in such a place. How nice it would be to live like this.” She saw a beautiful lake. Sweet scent was emanating from the numerous blooming flowers. The surrounding area was filled with that aroma. Pujya Sri Masterji came over there. On seeing him, Vedavathi asked Him “Father, what are these flowers called? These are called Saugandhika Flowers. Could you not recognize it by their very smell? Are they not beautiful?” said Sri Master. “Shall we walk along this way for sometime, dear” Masterji asked her. Both Masterji and Vedavathi were walking conversing on various topics…….. The dream ended with someone waking her up as the day broke.
The holy scriptures say that Lord Dattatreya is worshipped daily by the Saptharshis (Seven Great Sages) Maharshis, and Gods.
THEN WHO COULD OUR MASTER BE?

SRI RAMACHANDRA'S VIRTUOUS ARROW:ORIGIN BY BHAGAVAN SRI BHARADWAJA

Whenever there is  decay of dharma(dharma glaani), God incarnated to fulfill his promise --“protecting the virtuous and  punishing  the wicked.” Our hearts are filled with the turbulence of gratitude when we hear the RAMAYANA in Rama temples in our country. Lord Rama and sage Valmiki desired that we should earn salvation and learn dharma from RAMAYANAM.  When this desire is fulfilled then only the Ramanavami festival we are celebrating will give happiness to the Sage and Lord Rama.
Dharma of the king is to protect the sages who will do penance, perform yagnam, train the disciples for the welfare of the world. But king Dasaradha,  because of  affection on Rama  refused  to send  him  along with Viswamitra  to protect the yagnam. This affection on his son masked his faith on Bramharshi Viswamitra who could protect Lord Rama. Finally ,He followed  Vasistha’s instruction and agreed to sent Rama with Viswamithra.Lord Rama observed that it is our responsibility to follow the instructions of  GURU.
Except the last sentence, the rest we are already familiar.Daily we offer prayers to LORD RAMA, SAI RAMA  saying  – “you are my mother, you are my father, you are everything.” We chant slokas which mean that we offer our organs, mind, money, body, senses, our relatives for his service. When we read that Rama sacrificed the pleasures and went to jungle to protect the yagnam, Dasaradha sent him following the instructions of his Guru, or  prahlada worshiped lord Vishnu ignoring rest of his relatives – we get excited and shed tears of joy.
But when it comes to implementation? We hate Hiranyakasipudu , who refused his son worshipping Lord Vishnu , but we are not ready to involve our kids in the service  of Lord at least during free time.We read sacred texts sitting in the sofa, and desire to become Mahatamas like them .We pester God for not fulfilling our material and spiritual desires .We expect God to guard our family like a peon during communal riots, natural calamities. When we or our relatives have to cooperate in his service, we think that there are so many others for that purpose.
Sai served his Guru for 12 years. He did penance in cellar eating only neem leaves. In Shirdi for 60 years starting from 5AM to 10 PM He blessed all the devotees.
Even during night times without sleeping He guarded the devotees. Even after MahasamadhiI we don’t give Sri Sai rest for a second–We pester him without even letting him sleep just like a whitlow(infection on the tip of the finger)  asking him-- Our son got fever; I didn’t get promotion at work ; our son is not obedient; there is lot of stress at work  etc etc.  Of course , we are offering him coconut , light incense (agarbhatti). LORD RAMA or Sri Sai are bearing us with their patience, so we are worshiping them.
At least during our leisure time, if we try to do his service or learn to cooperate with people who serve him, then the incarnations of Rama and Sai have become a lot  meaningful. There is definitely strength in the arrow of  RAMA.

IN TIME AND IN ETERNITY: ORIGIN FROM THE SUPREME MASTER .BY BHAGAVAN SRI BHARADWAJATHE SUPREME MASTER )

We have already noted the fact that Sri Swami Samarth stayed in the house of Cholappa for quite some time. Afterwards he stayed for sometime in the royal palace. However, Cholappa cherished a deep feeling that the mortal remains of the Master after his niryana should be enshrined in his own house. Though he never expressed his desire to the Swami, Cholappa perhaps believed that the Swami ho graced house with his stay for so long would not disappoint him inthis respect. So,in one corner of his house he dug a pit in the floor in which to interthe Swami's body when he casts it off.The same day,as though to answer Cholappa's silent designs, The Swami happened to pass by his house. On the way he paused a little and looking at the house asked Cholappa why it was dug. Cholappa hesitated to put his thoughts out   verbally and so kept quiet. The Swami smiled and said, “I shall put you in that first. I shall not leave (the earthly abode) soon.”
A few weeks after, one day, the Swami spoke to Cholappa in a strange mood of abstraction. ‘Son! We are about to embark on a long journey. Would you serve me?’ Cholappa bowed in a silent affirmation.
Nearly a year before the Swami’s niryana, he threw numerous hints to his devotees regarding the coming event. Firstly, he stopped sleeping on the soft bed. He got it rolled up and secured on a tree.Sometimes, when his devotees were waving lighted camphor in front of him in arati, the swami used to hold it up in the middle of it and throw the burning camphor on the ground. One day the Swami five hundred dung cakes through Bavdekar and got them carefully piled up over Siva lingas and set fire to them. When they were burning the swami got five seers each of date, rice, fruits and flower-garlands thrown in the fire. This took place in the mutt of a zangam sadhu. The sadhu was wild to see the Swami spoiling the Sivalingas that he established in the mutt, and rushed to punish him. But as he approached the Swami he could not do anything more than shout a little. The Swami did not pay the least attention to the sadhu’s cries. The next day he got the ashes of the burnt out fire removed by the devotee Bhujang.
To the wonder of the zangam sadhu, in spite of fire, the lingas were quite good. Perhaps, through this leela (miracle) the Swami signified to all that the destruction of his physical frame would not in any way affect his existence and power even as the Siva lingas remained unaffected by the fire.
One day the Swami visited the house of one Tatya Subedar. As usual some of his devotees accompanied him.The Swami ordered one of them to remove the big stone bowl which was intended to house the tulasi plant to the distant tank, near the temple of Muraleedhar, to be thrown into it. Further the Swami himself accompanied the man that carried the bowl into the tank. When it was left in the water, the Swami asked all the devotees to cry loudly producing the sound “Bum Bum.” This gesture stands for bereavement. Then the Swami ordered Bavdekar to return to his native place Barsi, and when he left, the Swami handed over all his playthings to one devotee and wanted them to be given to Bavdekar.
Eight days prior to his niryana the Master asked his devotees to chant the divine name. Siva Hara Sankara, Namami Sankara, Siva Sankara Sambho, Hey Girijapathi Bhavanisankara Siva Sankara Sambho, and he also joined them in the singing. That was the only occasion when the devotees heard the Master singing the divine name.
During the last four or five days of his mortal existence the Swami stated playing in a novel manner, by raising small tombs with small pebbles.
On the day the Swami returned from the house of Tatya Subedar he had slight temperature and seemed to have recovered after a little rest. But soon the fever reappeared and he stayed in a mangrove for four days. The fever went on rising .The Swami stopped taking his meal.A devotee by name Sakharam Lakhande sought the permission of the Swami to cnarry him in a palanquin to His favourite spot at Akkalkot namely the big banyan tree. The Swami nodded in assent and accordingly, he was placed under His beloved banyan. The Master’s condition deteriorated fast. But the Swami started going through all His daily routine like daily bath with meticulous care, as though He was perfectly healthy. He never allowed anyone to approach Him unless it was absolutely necessary. Sundarabai was the only devotee that served Him till His last moment. No one had the courage even to request the Swami to take His food. At last all the devotees expressed their wish to the Swami through Sundarabai. The Swami agreed to take only two small spoonfuls of food. While feeding Him Sundarabai asked, “When are you going to be healthy, Swami?”The master replied in a quiet voice, “There is no question of my recovering health any more. It is time for me to return to my original abode.”Sundarabai was stunned to hear those words. Many doctors from all parts of the country rushed to Akkalkot to try their best to keep the light of the Master’s life burning. But the Master never allowed then to administer any of their medicines. When his devotees pleaded with Him piteously to take the medicine. He swallowed a little of it please them. But in a few moments it again came out of His mouth. Once more Sundarabai asked Him, “Swami, when are you going to be hale and healthy again?” The Master smiled and said, “When the mountains would speak!” However, some readers feel that the statement meant, “When demonic deeds stand frighteningly in the way of humanity.” Perhaps He meant that he would reappear whenever great yogis who are established in yoga ‘firm as mountains’, pray to Him to manifest Himself for the uplift of mankind. When another devotee,Sreepad Bhatt put the same question to Him, the Swami replied ,“When Pandharpur would burn.” Some readers take this statement to mean,“When the hearts of saints, sadhus and devotees would start weeping owing to the demonic deeds of the wicked.” Perhaps it would mean that He would reappear when dharma and spiritual knowledge are in danger of being annihilated.
The devotees realised that the Swami’s end was near. One after another they bowed to Him and sought His final message. The Swami said to Sreepada Bhatt, “Go and dig at the roots of the banyan.” “Digging at the roots” meant the performance of tapas. He told Ganpath Rao, “Stay in that same temple.” To Balappa He said,  “Go and live under the audumbar (fig) tree!” which meant that he should attend to his spiritual mission .To the rest of the devotees He said, “ Tread the path of your ancestors.”Then the Master Himself recited the famous verse (sloka number 22) from the ninth chapter of the Bhagavat Geetha which runs thus:-
“For those men who worship Me alone, thinking of no other, for those ever- united, I secure what is not already possessed and preserve what they already possessed.” (Shri Swami Sivananda’s translation).
It was the month of chaitra (April- May) in the year 1878, the thirteenth day of the dark- half of lunar month (May 8).The Swami took just a spoonful of food at the request of His devotees. He took the betel- nut which Balappa gave Him. When the Master stretched Himself on the bed all the devotees kept looking at him pathetically. One of them asked the Master whether all the devotees should perform anushatan (special religious performances). The Master replied, “Anushatan is not necessary; just release a cow and its calf that will do! Accordingly, a cow and its calf in the cattle shed were untied and left free. At once the cow and its calf ran into the Swami, circumbulated his bed, touched his holy feet with their heads, and returned to their cattle shed to grace! Then the Swami spoke, “Meena (Pisces) is my rasi (Lunar mansion in the astrological chart).” Then he asked someone whether the planet Saturn was in that zodiacal sign at that time and ascertained it. On that holy occasion al the devotees gave daanas (offerings to the Brahmins and the poor). One of them asked the Swami, “Do you like to give any daana?” The Swami replied, “You may give if you like.” (It must be mentioned that on the previous day the Swami got a shawl worth Rs 350/- dipped in water and presented it to a Brahmin by name Ramasastri Avadhani). The Swami added, “What do I have that I can give? I have only a cod –piece. Even that is not my own and I will have to leave that too very soon.”
One of the devotees said, “Swami, here it is very cold. Shall we take you into the house?”  “No”, the Master replied, “I must go and merge in this tree.” (Here we must remember that when His devotees asked Him about His caste and parentage, the Swami long ago replied, “The Original Purusha- the origin of the First Cause, the Banyan Tree, and Dattanagar).”
Even while the devotees were looking on, the peace, radiance and intensity of the Swami’s looks greatly increased. The Swami asked them to help him to a sitting position. Sreepada Bhatt helped him to sit up. The Swami said, “No one should weep. I shall always be present in all places. I shall respond to every call.” The Swami sat in the lotus posture and at once merged his spirit in the Infinite. The closed eyes remained still. Three white specks came out of his mouth. His face was full of life. Infect all the devotees were hoping that their beloved Master would open his eyes to cast his look of grace at them. Some of the devotees strengthened their hearts with the parting instruction of the Swami; They took the event with equanimity. But many of them broke down wailing, beating their breasts and rolling on the ground and, some of them even fell unconscious.
The Rajah of Akkalkot took the body of the Swami around the town in a royal procession The procession stopped for a moment just in front of Cholappa’s house. The body was enshrined under the banyan tree which was dear to him.
Saints do not die. They attain immortality and can reappear in flesh and blood. Christ demonstrated it and so did the Swami!
Later Balappa who was very close to the Swami could not bear the sight of his Samadhi (tomb). He wept for days on end and gave up taking food. On the third day the Swami reappeared to him in flesh and blood! Balappa could not believe his own eyes. But the long hands, the kamandala(a saint’s water pot),padukas, his penetrating look were all unmistakable. Balappa touched his feet in reverence. The Swami raised him up with his own hands and said, “I have given you mypadukas.I am there in your mutt in the form of Absolute Consciousness. I love to receive your services there in that form.” The Swami vanished as suddenly as He appeared!
Long before His niryana, the Master promised a jagirdar of Neelgaon, by name Bhau Saheb that He would visit his house some time, and poor Bhau Saheb was not yet aware that the Swami had attained niryana! On the fifth day after the Swami’s Samadhi, Bhau Saheb, who was sitting in his house received the news that the Master came to Neelegoan along with his devotees. At once he and his family went and took his darshan. The Jagirdar invited the Swami to grace his house. The Swami said, “I shall come some other time, not now.”The jagirdar and his family  went home and, after lunch, again came to spend the rest of the day in the holy company of the Master. But there was no trace of him anywhere. In great wonder he searched everywhere in the village and sent a messenger to Akkalkot to find out the matter. But even before the messenger returned, the Swami appeared at Bhau Saheb’s house. The jagirdar requested him to dine in his house. The Swami smiled in reply and in few moments, vanished into thin air! A little later the messenger returned from Akkalkot and told Bhau Saheb that Shri Swami Samarth took Samadhi five days earlier. The jagirdar’s wonder knew no bounds.
Even today Shri Swami Samarth appears to His ardent devotees and He answers all prayers and petitions instantaneously. May He bless all!

PARIPRASNA : ORIGIN BY BHAGAVAN SRI BHARADWAJA
Q: Sri Sai said that “Complete surrender to Guru with faith is enough.” What should we do if the faith starts to fade away on the Guru whom we trusted completely?
A.The real faith is two types. It is hard for the faith to fade away on a Guru who just like Sai demonstrates his Omniscience and Omnipresence .Sri Ramana Maharshi describes a devotee who surrenders to such Guru just as a prey that has fallen into the tiger’s jaw. It is difficult to obtain such Guru’s presence .Their flawless life will not give rise to any hesitations. Even then, we see devotees get upset because of their ignorance that their desires are not fulfilled .So they will leave the Guru. It means is that  instead of having faith, we have desire on the Guru .Guru would have partiality and be an unrighteous person- if  all our desires are fulfilled without following the results of righteous and unrighteous deeds from our previous births. To show equal love on all living creatures is the back bone of the righteous nature. This righteousness is the example of their Knowledge. It is justice, when the Righteous Adjudicator (Dharma Nirnetha) bounds to certain rules and show their mercy on the creatures.
The real devotion or faith depends on the correct understanding. Children love their parents only because all their desires are fulfilled by them. This is only selfishness but not true love.As their thinking develops, they will understand the real purpose of discipline implemented by the parents. Even though it is painful temporarily, they will realize the effort put by the parents for their welfare and accept this discipline happily. This love comprises of Patience and Faith.Such love comprised of understanding and patience is called Devotion or Faith.
This is similar to the bitter medicine given by the Doctor. As we are ignorant, we trust that the medicine given by the Doctor is for our own good. Whether the medicine is sweet or bitter, we should be thankful and take it as it will be beneficial for us. In a similar way we don’t know the deeds of our previous births, or about our spiritual welfare. As Sri Sai knows about everything, we should always think he will do anything for our welfare only.We should never ask him to fulfill only the things we like.
WHEN EVER OUR TRUST FADES AWAY ON A GREAT SADGURU LIKE SRI SAI, THEN IT IS EITHER BECAUSE OF A MISTAKE IN OUR UNDERSTANDING OR IN OUR PRAYERS.TO RECTIFY THIS WE SHOULD READ “SRI SAI PRABHODAAMRUTHAM” REGULARLY AND TRY TO RECOLLECT IT CONTINUOSLY.
As we take bath daily to clean the dirt from our body, we should clean the dirt called ignorance from our mind by constant repeating of the teachings .This is the most important principle. People forget this principle and bewail that their devotion did not strengthen.
